Mission Statement
Our Mission
To
Tell the World About the Natural Wonders of Newfoundland and Labrador,
thereby Enhancing the Protection of Our Wild Lands and the Ocean.
We accomplish this by inviting
travelers from around the world to experience the whales, seabirds,
and other wildlife of this place. We are committed to providing
quality life experiences for visitors and we strive to maintain
excellent customer service while providing respectful, sustainable,
educational, and enjoyable excursions.
We also accomplish this by
celebrating this place’s natural wonders through the development
and/or sale of sustainably produced gift items reflecting our many
special resources.
Because we care we support local
environmental charities and sustainable tourism activities. Since
1989 we have donated an annual $500 scholarship to the province's
oldest conservation organization (The Natural History Society of
Newfoundland and Labrador) with activism joining academics as the
scholarship's main criteria.
Wildland Tours is the longest
continual supporter of the Protected Areas Association (local World
Wildlife Fund affiliate) and we join them in campaigns supporting
park creation and wise use of the outdoors. We are active supporters
of numerous other environmental and sustainable tourism
organizations including the International Ecotourism Society. We are
also active within Newfoundland and Labrador's tourism industry.
Company President Dave Snow was the
founding president of the province's Outdoor Adventure Association
and Wildland Tours has been a member of the province's tourism
industry association (Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador) since
1986. President David Snow and General Manager Heather Ivany sit on
enough committees and boards that we don't want to bore you by
listing them all.
Please rest assured that we believe
in responsible travel providing authentic, memorable, and positive
life experiences with knowledgeable and fun local people.
