See you another time as I'm sure that the awesome magnetism of your wonderful province will touch our hearts and draw us back again. We had a great time. Our eyes are sore from all the beauty they took in during our stay. As for our tour guide Jean… what can we say? She was one in a million! Her wit, superior knowledge, thoughtfulness, and superb people skills have earned her the nickname Queen of Newfoundland. We left wondering if there was anyone on the island she didn't know."
Mike and Carol Moore, Brantford, Ontario

"If I had to pick my favorite photo, it would be the close-up of the eagle out of frame because you can see his intention in his eye. Thanks again for providing Sydney and I with a trip we will never forget."
Vincent Lynch, New York

"I have been meaning to write since we returned from Newfoundland to let you know what a wonderful trip we had. The trip was all we had hoped for and more. We were hoping to see just one iceberg and ended up seeing the 401 of icebergs at rush hour. Mark was a superb guide. His knowledge of the local geology, topography, history, flora and fauna, etc. was outstanding. He has an incredibly keen eye and spotted many whales, birds, eagles, moose, and orchids that we would have missed on our own. He also allowed us to go at our own leisurely pace, which made the trip very enjoyable. I think you should hope that Mark doesn’t give up guiding to become a real estate agent. His excitement for the region is so contagious that he could make a killing if he ever decided to work the real estate market. In fact, as soon as we returned home we started thinking that we should buy a property in Gros Morne. For us the highlights included whale watching in St. Anthony, being close enough to touch an iceberg shining blue/green in the sunlight in Labrador, and our hike into and out of Western Brook Pond (to name just a few). We hope to get back to our new favorite province and if we do, we will certainly be in touch."
Steve Hurowitz, Toronto

"This was our first group tour but not our last. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. The people and the places were truly special. We were planning on the Antarctic next but we are strongly thinking of returning to Newfoundland and checking out your east coast tour first. Tell Mark that in another age he would have been a famous explorer."
Paul and Ann Hershman, Florida

"We selected Wildland because we were afraid of the inconvenience of being with a large group. We were afraid of superficial visits to sights of immense interest and you put that fear to rest on day one. Your leaders are genuinely welcoming and have an amazing range of knowledge. We were afraid that there wouldn’t be any time for exploring on our own. The arrangements for the weekend in St. John’s were amazing. No problem there. Finally we were afraid that fussy eaters like us would have challenges in some of the remote areas. The restaurants were great and the flavours were magic. We’re coming back to Newfoundland for our next vacation."

"Thank you for your great flexibility. The way you took us off the beaten path to see whales and that iceberg was fun. It was like we were on a great adventure every day."
Bob Retin, Montana

"Yours is the type of holiday we like to promote as models. Good luck with all your superb work."
Erich Hoyt, author of numerous whale and natural history books

"What a great pleasure it was to be a part of a Wildland Tour! To drive along a highway where caribou grazed on one side of the road and moose on the other. To gaze at an elevation of reddish brown soil and rocks that at one point in time was the floor of an ancient ocean. To see fossils of Trilobites. To be in a small boat manoevering in and around icebergs. To visit two UNESCO sites. To walk where people lived and walked before Columbus arrived. To share the excitement of this wondrous place with Mark Tsang, I will always remember this energetic, knowledgeable, intelligent, accommodating man who was also kind, patient, and a delightful companion. In addition, the motels were first-rate. Peace for all the world!"
Marie Benner, California

"I have treasured my memories of my time spent in Newfoundland."
Chris Pratt, England

"Our…tour with you was the highlight of our visit to the Maritime Provinces."
Nancy and Carolyn Hepburn, Scotland

"I want to tell how much we enjoyed our holiday; it was so varied, everything from whales to arthropods, it increased my awe at the wonders of the natural world. And we enjoyed meeting new people, Nellie, the boat captains, curators of museums, etc."
Rosemary and Norman Lewis, U.K.

"The natural beauty of Newfoundland is surpassed only by the spirit and warmth of its people. Thank you for skillfully and knowledgeably sharing this treasure with us."
Dave and Barbara Conn, Ontario

"I have just returned home from completing your company’s Viking Trail tour. This was without a doubt the best tour I have ever taken. From seeing a trilobite on the first day, to hiking the Green Gardens, to the archaeological sites of Red Bay, L’Anse aux Meadows and Port au Choix, to the fossil strewn beach at Green Point, as well as a tour of the Bay of Islands, and everything in between was much more than I had expected. The small group size really allows an individual to experience more than they would with one of the larger tour operators. "
Jason Rizzo, Florida

"The visual beauty of Newfoundland and the voices of the people we met, and left behind will forever live in my head, but more importantly, in my heart. If all of ones life becomes a warm quilt of people and memories, then somewhere near the center is a single gold thread that embroiders the simple word…Newfoundland. Thank you again for everything. "
Barbara Vernes, Minnesota

"Your tour is an excellent package with a great variety of scenery, wildlife, and activities. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Newfoundland with Wildland Tours."
Jim Alexander, New Jersey

"Heather Ivany was pure sunshine. I would have happily travelled with her to the ends of the Earth. "
Monica Carruthers, Virginia

"From the moment Dan Hickey met me at the airport in St. John's till I left Mark Tsang in Deer Lake two weeks later, you offered me excellent service. The staff in the shop was helpful in every way – including regarding books and videos (my luggage was already too heavy). The Viking Trail tour proved to be a very good choice. The mix of history, nature, and culture was very satisfying. Even the weather was on our side. In addition, I must emphasize the tour leader Mark Tsang. I have never met a guide who has combined such a high level of knowledge in different fields with the ability in dealing with people. I wish to thank you all…"
Lasse Kapstaef, Norway

"I had travelled to Newfoundland with one of your American 'competitors' and I just had to return so I could get off the bus and see the sights with the locals. This time I got to see the whales, icebergs and puffins that [the big bus company] promised but couldn't deliver. And while I could tell that the animal gatherings were among the biggest on earth (they were a real wow!), the real highlight of the holiday was getting to meet your staff and the Newfoundlanders you work with. Dan Hickey is a prince. Genuine, friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful are just words…I still don't know how to describe the fun I had with Dan and all the folks I met on your Newfoundland Adventure…enclosed is my deposit for your…Viking Trail trip…I am looking forward to more icebergs and especially to more Newfoundlanders and Newfoundland food."
Mary Turner, Florida

"I just wanted to thank Dan for an incredible trip…all was great. The talk, the wheels, the grub. Dan is a veritable machine, a renaissance man of the highest order, who kept us going on local lore, nature and history info and his own passion for the land. The tunes were great too! Dan, I know I'll be back, as that image of the Gannets and the myriad corners of the province you describe still spin through my noggin. Can't thank you enough."
Geordie Miller Ontario

"Thank you for the…video. I've watched it twice already, brings back some wonderful memories of the fun, excitement and the shared adventure with great folks. Awesome footage of the dolphins, double breaches and the orcas."
Arlene Erven Ontario

"… thank you for helping to make my stay one of the most remarkable holidays I have ever had."
Lyn Pritchard, London, England

"We had an extraordinarily productive and enjoyable visit off the beaten path to see some truly remarkable and breathtaking sights."
C. Edwin Meadows, Jr., Commissioner, Department of Conservation, Maine, U.S.A

"… it was a splendid experience, worth repeating."
Diana Willcock, Surrey, England

"We had an exceptionally enjoyable time and we have been recommending Newfoundland to all of our neighbours."
I. Storgaard, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

"Thank you for a great two weeks in a beautiful and unspoiled part of Canada!"
Joan Budd Tehkummah, Ontario, Canada

"We saw more whales and seabirds than I could have imagined… Thank you so much for the excellent arrangements …  The people of your island are indeed special"
Terry Hicks, Kingston, Ontario, Canada

"Please also accept my gratitude for your kindness and hospitality during my two week stay in Newfoundland, and providing me with the most wonderful and spectacular whale watching days I'm sure I will ever have in my lifetime."
Lyn Samler, Hampshire, England
