Newfoundland orcas just south of St. John's

The last Newfoundland Adventure of 2010 had our group enjoy an encounter with orcas near Witless Bay, Newfoundland which is a mere 20 miles south of St. John’s.  Two days earlier company president and orca scientist Dave Snow photographed the same group as they killed a minke whale.  The orcas exhibited an obvious sense of navigation and direction as they returned to the kill site after a 30-hour absense and appeared to feed underwater on the minke remains.
