Northern Whale Study

This young male orca is called a sprouter as its dorsal fin is not finished growing.  It was photographed off the Newfoundland coast during a Wildland Tours' Whale Study Week holiday and we continue to look for it every year during the boat tours on all of our Wildland Tours' escorted vacations featuring the dramatic coast of Newfoundland and Labrador.
