Northern Whale Study

Every humpback whale has a distinctive tail pattern as unique as human fingerprints. We photograph the humpback tails as part of the research effort to census or count the whales of the north Atlantic and the whales of the world. This humpback whale off the Newfoundland, Canada coast was photographed during the Wildland Tours' Northern Whale Study expedition in Newfoundland and Labrador.
