Photo Tour

May is magic in Newfoundland and Labrador with Wildland Tours. Most years we enjoy giant Greenland icebergs calved from the same glacier as the iceberg that sunk the titanic. Newfoundland and Labrador provides easy access to the hemisphere’s largest icebergs.
May Magic with Wildland Tours features a visit to the world’s most southerly caribou herd just south of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.During May Magic inclusive holidays with Wildland Tours, we enjoy visits to huge seabird colonies. This bunch of small group holiday travellers are enjoying one of the world’s most spectacular and accessible seabird colonies.
May Magic with Wildland Tours features small groups exploring the coast at a great time for watching moose, caribou, puffins, other seabirds and icebergs. The dramatic coast of Newfoundland and Labrador is visited by icebergs and whales every spring time. We enjoy the subarctic springtime on the Wildland Tours' May Magic escorted tour program.

Itinerary

Day 1 Pick up at airport and short orientation tour of St. John's. An evening picture show will introduce you to the highlights of the upcoming adventure.

Overnight St. John's

Day 2 Today begins with a boat tour featuring North America's largest puffin colony, and thousands of other seabirds. Often we find dolphins, humpbacks, and the year's first fin whales. We enjoy a local lunch at a small restaurant (or a picnic lunch in a natural setting) before visiting one of the New World's earliest fishing villages.

Overnight St. John's

Day 3 Members of the world's most southerly caribou herd, a small puffin colony, and seals are usually seen as we circle the Avalon Wilderness Area.

Overnight St. John's

Day 4 Travel to North America's most easterly point and briefly explore the oldest City before traveling to the first outpost of New France. Then we visit the Continent's third largest gannet colony. This site is also a breeding ground for thousands of other seabirds and they will all be waiting for your camera. Another caribou herd, land-based whale watching, and moose are often part of the day's wonders. Your holiday gala will either be a barbecue at our cottage near the town of Colinet or a late restaurant supper in the city.

Overnight St. John's

Day 5 Free in St. John's until we get you to the airport.
