Because of its association with Wildland Tours it is also a popular source of books and travel information for people planning a Newfoundland and Labrador vacation. The store is also a key source of information for folks interested in the province's whales and birds including vagrants and rare whales. Storm-wrecked seabirds, confused bats, and other wild creatures in distress have visited Wild Things temporarily before being safely returned to the wilds of Newfoundland.

The mail order portion of Wild Things' activities continues to grow. For example, Canada's Governor General gets her blueberry, partridgeberry, and bakeapple tea from Wild Things' mail order service.
